Sikandar
Akhbar's Mausoleum in Sikandra, sudden illness of my mom, our travel to Bhopal in the first class of Indian railways
The last day in Agra we decided to devote to the tomb of Akbar, which is located on the outskirts of Agra. Perfectly symmetrical layout of the garden and the tomb strikes with its grandiosity. You can easily feel the greatness and dignity of the ruler who built the tomb.
The gardens antelopes walk slowly around and eat grass. On the benches and some stairs lovers sit. It is interesting how these monuments still perform some function in the life of the locals. Quite differently than in Europe, where a monument is intended only to illustrate and extend knowledge. In India (perhaps because the tickets for the entry to the monuments are very cheap or free for Indians) such places are used for meetings and recreation. Therefore, often one can see Indians who go to a fort for a picnic or an evening stroll. It must be noted that Indians are fond of hanging around in the evenings and highly appreciate the aesthetic and recreational values of such places like Mogul's tombs and gardens.
On the way back we wanted to visit a colonial church of St. John and Collage of his name, but my mother suddenly felt very ill and we had to go back to the hotel.
Train to Bhopal, of course, was late, but when it arrived and we finally got into our compartment, it turned out that the First Class was really a good choice. We received a separate compartment, very spacious, with a sink and cabinets. Beds are wider and more comfortable than in the second tier. Air conditioning could be turned off ( at the upper bed I was always disturbed by the constant breeze directed straight to my face), occasionally an irritating vanilla smell of a soap was felt. Someone apparently sprayed a refresher. Were it not for the disease of my mom, this travel could be counted in the most convenient ones in India.
