Traveling from Delhi to Jaisalmer
That day I had a crisis. I was afraid that something can go wrong... because of that I had a stomachache. To improve my mood mom dragged me down (we had a room on the 3rd floor) to a small shop at our hotel.
It turned out that the shop was pretty well stocked and my mom finally was able to buy a few shirts for herself, so that she did not look completely like a tourist. She also bought a dress for myself, of course. At once I felt a bit better... This time golden, made of silk, Punjabi style, created a sensation in the coming days. After shopping we had to finish packing, and then set out to the station, which proved to be quite far away.
At the train station and on the platforms it is not as terrible as it is usually told to scare tourists: that there are crowds and thieves and that they cheat with tickets. Wrong. Everything works even better than in Poland. All passengers who have reserved spots are listed on charts, which hang on the platform, and later on the cars. At the station porters ask you to carry your luggage up the stairs, because sometimes to get to other platforms you have to go up steep stairs and then down again. And these thin and agile guys threw our big suitcases on their heads and ran on the platform, found our name on the list and have brought us in the right place, where we had to wait for our train. Of course, you had to pay them. Whether much or little I will not say, is an individual matter, but I think that it is in their interest to ask for more, and I pull the price down and this is a natural course of things.
The cars are completely different than in Poland. Especially coaches are much wider. We rode in the class A2, which is almost the best, the above is just A1. Beds were four - two on one side and two on the other, just so you can sit comfortably on the bed. This four-place compartment is separated from the corridor by a curtain. And on the other side are two beds more, on the top and bottom. These side beds are better, because at the bottom there are windows ... We got two the top beds. Very hard ...
The train was late and arrived in Jaisalmer 3 hours later than planned. We already thought that no one will wait for us for so long, because someone from the hotel was sent for us. But he was there and that was the boss of the small hotel! but more on that will be in another post, because it is another day!!
